I have been invited to the private view this week to see the opening of this great new initiative from artists Mark Paul Perry and Guy Portelli.  The pair will be opening a new gallery and exhibition space on Camden Road in Tunbridge Wells that aims to provide opportunities for artists and crafts people  to present and show their work.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Vesuvio's resturant (Art Pull's neighbour) the gallery will be opening with a Italian inspired artworks followed by a solo show from Julia Stockwell-Hamin from the 11th - 15th June.

I hope to bring you some photo's and more information about the space following the private view this week.

CONNECT At Trinity Gallery

_DHN3132

This morning I was invited to attend CONNECT, a breakfast meeting to raise awareness about dementia and to celebrate the opening of of the Alzheimers Society local group art exhibition.

The Alzheimers Society provides local services to help people live fulfilling lives following a diagnosis of dementia. Creative expression is encouraged via arts and crafts at their day support centre in Meadow Road - Tunbridge Wells.  This show has been produced to celebrate what people with dementia can do - and to reassure everyone else that worrying changes nothing, talking changes everything.

The artists worked with Jane Churchill who is the Artists in Residence with Town and Country Foundation to create the wonderful piece above which was inspired by Aboriginal dot paintings. This exhibition is a great example of showing how through art, people can express themselves and have a voice, learn new creative skills and be part of a show that will get people 'talking' about dementia.

HAIKU Host Kate Hasted in new 'Pop Up'

Not one to brag about my own endeavors but I figured I should post about this exhibition I am taking part in!

It may also be of interest to other designer/makers/artists who would be interested in doing something similar. Pop Up's are a fantastic way to show your work either with other artists or on your own and are a great way to work collaboratively with independent retail outlets to boost exposure and generate interest for both parties!

Please see my flyer below for more information
