Kent Creates is created by me - Kate Hasted and was inspired by a collaborative pop up shop run in Tunbridge Wells in 2012 that I took part in called 11@11. The exhibition received such great feedback and support that I felt there should be a online presence for artists and designers to showcase and promote their work across Kent.
The blog will support established and emerging contemporary artists and designer-makers across a variety of art forms who's work is handmade and designed in Kent and of a high standard. I aim to promote fairs, craft shows, exhibitions and work opportunities so please get in touch with me if you are an organiser and wish me to promote your opportunity.
I am also keen to promote work within community settings, so if you are hosting an art event with a group you run or you are an organisation looking for artists please get in touch as I will be able to promote for you.
Artists and events promoted on the site will be selected by me, if you are a artist or designer looking for representation please send me a short email about you and a few images of your recent work - please send high quality jpegs, I will do my best to get back to you. Please note that I am looking for contemporary work that fits the aesthetic of this blog.

Hi Kate, lovely blog! We are Calico Cat Craft Fairs, and would like to invite you to join us to take a look at what some of our really talented local creators can do. This October we have fairs in Hythe on 19th and Chilham on 27th, plus more in the run up to Christmas. We feel really strongly about getting out and showing support to our creative community, and putting £ back in our local community.
